On September 10th 2013, the UD Men’s Rugby team was issued a suspension by the university in effect until the end of the 2018 spring season. The team is allowed to appeal this decision after the spring semester of each school year until the suspension ends.
During this time the Rugby Club may not act as a group in any capacity.

UPDATE: Summer 2014 appeal denied. Club leadership plans to appeal the decision again in the summer of 2015.
The team is currently suspended by the university and can not accept new members. In the mean time, feel free to browse the site to learn more about the clubs history.
Students who choose to continue their rugby careers while the University club rugby team is under suspension are welcome to play for the local area Men’s Club team, Wilmington Rugby. On the third day of Rugby the Delaware squad capped off a great weekend with a last minute come from behind win against Notre Dame to win the Plate Division at the 2013 CRC. With the end of game whistle blasting away, Sophmore Glen Thommes carries in 3 Notre Dame players with him under the posts to score the tying try. Senior and Captian Jimmy Kowalski nails the conversion to put the Hens up 12-10.
We hosted our 2nd annual rugby clinic at the University. The weather was outstanding and over 50 high school students took part of the event. Salty Thompson, the USA rugby high school all-stars coach, was present to talk and show the rugby players what his program is looking for in possible canidates.
The team was officially notified that they have been extended a bid to play in the 3-Day event at PPL park, Chester PA. The event will have Friday night matches to lessen the amount of games on Saturday and the overall time that fans have to sit and wait. The event is schedule for May 31 - June 2nd.

The team played in the USA Rugby College 7s Championship and finished 3rd in the nation. The team overcame a half time score of 5-10 over St. Mary's of California to win 22-10. Click here to read RugbyMag article...
The team traveled up to New York over Thanksgiving weekend and won the college division. They did not give up one score throughout the day. Winning the final match against last year's winner Stoney Brook 38-0. Overall the team scored 164-0 for the entire day. The team was Captained by Senior Jimmy Kowalski. Jimmy scored 4 tries, but freshman Joe Robert was the standout with scoring 7 tries.
The University of Delaware 7s squad performed well enough this year to get an at-large bid from the USA rugby competition committee. The event is hosted by Texas A&M in College Station, TX on Nov. 30 & Dec 1, 2012.
